In the Company of Children is a responsibility programme that challenges us to think about how even moderate alcohol use by adults can affect children’s lives and what this feels like to a child.

Childhood experiences of harmful intoxicant abuse by an adult close to you can have long-term impacts on your life that persist into adulthood.

The In the Company of Children programme was launched more than 10 years ago

In the Company of Children is an Alko responsibility programme that seeks to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of adults’ alcohol use on children.

The programme was launched in 2009 and its cooperation partners include the A-Clinic Foundation, the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare, the Finnish Parents' League and the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
